What can I say about my life coach Kelly, also known as Kousin Kelz? Yes, I said “my” because the attention given to my goals is specifically tailored for me. Initially, my contact with Kelly was for business purposes, but by the end of our meeting, I found myself in tears, realizing that I had just met my life coach. It was a revelation to me that I was in need of such guidance. Life has a way of bringing people into our lives for a reason or a season.

Every time I receive my weekly call from Kelly, I instantly perk up. His energy is always at a 10, and I strive to match that level of enthusiasm. At first, I didn’t think much of the assignments he gave me, but when I fell off track, I realized the wisdom behind his advice. Working with Kelly has made me accountable for my actions, whether they are good or bad. I came to the realization that no one else makes my choices; they simply offer me options. This was a hard pill to swallow.

Through Kelly’s guidance, I have become more vulnerable, which has led me to be more transparent about who I am. I now understand my worth and what I deserve. After spending 18 years in the telecommunications field, my journey with Kelly has helped me embark on a new path in search of my purpose. The end of my career in telecommunications was not by choice, and it left me in a bad place. However, when I attended my business meeting with Kelly, I presented myself confidently, with fresh makeup and a smile on my face. Our meeting was strictly focused on business matters.

I can’t recall the exact words he said to me, but they triggered a flood of emotions. I started crying, expressing my frustration about not knowing my purpose, losing myself, and childhood trauma. It was unlike me to cry in front of someone I had just met. In that moment, I realized that I needed help, and that help was right in front of me in the form of Kelly.

The work I am doing with Kelly has not only helped me in rediscovering my purpose, but it has also improved my relationship with my sibling and mother. He made me understand that until I had those tough conversations, I would continue to repeat negative patterns. In those conversations, I had to hold both them and myself accountable for allowing certain things to take place. We are currently working on the process of growth and healing.
